What’s Happening in Ingersoll This Thanksgiving Weekend: October 9–12, 2026

Looking for things to do in Ingersoll this Thanksgiving weekend?

You might be surprised by how much you can pack into a fall weekend here.

There’s a spooky night market, live music, a Saturday farmers’ market, local shops, trails, a children’s book launch, Thanksgiving treats and, if you happen to be wondering what it would be like to actually live in Ingersoll, I know a rather nice house you can wander through on Saturday afternoon. 😉

Here’s your guide to Thanksgiving weekend in Ingersoll, Ontario, October 9–12, 2026.

🔮 FRIDAY NIGHT: Start the Weekend with the Mystic Market

Mystic Market

Friday, October 9 | 6:00–10:00 p.m.

Ingersoll Cheese Museum

October is wasting absolutely no time getting weird.

The Mystic Market returns to the Ingersoll Cheese Museum Friday evening with psychics, tarot and palm readers, mediums, spiritual practitioners, artisans, crystals, handcrafted goods and other wonderfully mysterious finds.

It's all happening on the historic museum grounds at 290 Harris Street.

Whether you're deeply interested in the mystical arts or simply curious whether somebody can explain why you keep buying decorative pumpkins when you already own twelve, this is a fun way to start Thanksgiving weekend.

🍎 SATURDAY MORNING: Farmers' Market + Downtown Ingersoll

Kiwanis Farmers' Market

Saturday | 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Start Saturday at the Kiwanis Farmers' Market.

The market runs Saturday mornings through October and features local farm-fresh produce, baked goods, seasonal decorations, soaps, arts and crafts.

October is arguably when a farmers' market is at its best.

Apples? Check.

Fall vegetables? Check.

Baked things you absolutely did not intend to purchase when you left home? Almost certainly.

📚 SATURDAY STORYTIME & BOOK LAUNCH

Butterflies Strong and Free

Saturday, October 10 | 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Commonplace Books

Families with little readers can head downtown for a special storytime and book launch at Commonplace Books.

Author Bethany Friend and illustrator Megan Lewis will be celebrating the launch of their new picture book Butterflies Strong and Free with a reading beginning at 11 a.m.

It's a lovely little addition to a Saturday morning downtown, particularly if you've already hit the farmers' market.

🏡 SATURDAY AFTERNOON: Come See What $450,000 Buys in Ingersoll

OPEN HOUSE

146 Benson Street, Ingersoll

Saturday, October 10 | 1:00–3:00 p.m.

And since you're already out exploring Ingersoll...

Come see a home.

146 Benson Street is OPEN Saturday from 1:00–3:00 p.m., hosted by the lovely Satvir.

This renovated 3-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom home sits on a corner lot with parking for at least four vehicles and is listed at $450,000.

If you're a first-time buyer, downsizer, single parent or someone commuting toward Kitchener-Waterloo or London, this is exactly the kind of property that makes Ingersoll worth putting on your radar.

And we're making the open house a little more fun.

Stop in, tour the house, tell us your favourite feature and your REALTOR®'s name, and enter for your chance to win an ESSO Gift Card.

No high-pressure sales pitch required.

Come in. Look around. Decide whether you'd put the couch there or there. We support both options.

🎶 THEN HEAD TO A THANKSGIVING CONCERT

The Paddy Stones

Saturday, October 10 | 2:00 p.m.

St. James' Anglican Church

If live music sounds like your kind of Saturday, The Paddy Stones are back in Ingersoll for a special Thanksgiving concert.

Expect acoustic guitars, Irish, Scottish and East Coast favourites, pub songs and sea shanties, with plenty of opportunities to sing along.

The concert is also a fundraiser supporting the Ingersoll and District Inter Church Association Christmas hamper program and St. James' Church.

Tickets are $25, and seasonal Thanksgiving treats will be served during intermission.

So yes, apparently singing sea shanties and eating Thanksgiving treats is an available Saturday-afternoon activity in Ingersoll.

I approve.

🧀 VISIT THE INGERSOLL CHEESE & AGRICULTURAL MUSEUM

You can't really talk about exploring Ingersoll without talking about cheese.

Ingersoll and Oxford County have deep roots in Canada's dairy and cheese-making history, and the Ingersoll Cheese & Agricultural Museum tells that story through local artifacts, exhibits and historic buildings.

The museum is located in Centennial Park at 290 Harris Street.

And if the phrase “cheese museum” made you immediately more interested in local history, we can absolutely be friends.

🎨 ADD A LITTLE LOCAL ART

Another stop worth adding to your weekend is the Ingersoll Creative Arts Centre.

Its Feelings and Fibres exhibition is running throughout October, making this an easy indoor addition if Thanksgiving weekend weather decides not to cooperate.

The centre is located in Victoria Park and features exhibitions, workshops and locally made art.

🍁 TAKE A FALL WALK

If the weather cooperates, October is an excellent time to see the quieter side of Ingersoll.

Lawson Trail

The Lawson Trail follows the Thames River and offers an easy local place to get outside, walk the dog and enjoy some fall colour.

There's also an off-leash dog area nearby.

Carmeuse Limestone Valley Trail

For something a little more nature-heavy, the Limestone Valley Trail near Ingersoll offers river views, birding and a peaceful escape from town.

No ticket.

No schedule.

No pumpkin-spice anything required.

Just go walk.

🧀 FOLLOW A LITTLE OF THE OXFORD COUNTY CHEESE TRAIL

If you're visiting Ingersoll rather than simply spending the weekend close to home, you can also turn the day into part of an Oxford County Cheese Trail adventure.

Ingersoll has several stops connected to the area's cheese-making heritage, and Tourism Oxford has built an entire itinerary around exploring local producers, restaurants, shops and attractions.

Explore Ingersoll and the Oxford County Cheese Trail

This is one of my favourite things about exploring Oxford County.

You can pretend you're undertaking an important regional heritage tour when, in reality, you're mostly looking for cheese.

Both things can be true.

Take a fall walk, visit the Cheese Museum or explore a little more of Oxford County.

And suddenly you've spent an entire day in Ingersoll.

Which is sort of the point.

🏡 WHY INGERSOLL?

I talk a lot about houses, obviously.

I'm a REALTOR®. It would be concerning if I didn't.

But when you're deciding where to buy a home, the conversation shouldn't stop at square footage and bedrooms.

What's the town like?

Where do you grab coffee?

Can you walk somewhere?

Are there local events?

What do families do on weekends?

Can you get to London or Kitchener-Waterloo without reorganizing your entire life?

Ingersoll offers that interesting combination of small-town community and Highway 401 accessibility, with London in one direction and Kitchener-Waterloo in the other.

And with homes like 146 Benson Street listed at $450,000, it's also worth exploring for buyers who are discovering that their budget doesn't stretch quite as comfortably in some of the larger surrounding markets.

Sometimes finding home starts by widening the map.
